So, if you’ve ever been to an Eric Roberson show, you’re more than familiar with Mr. Curt Chambers. He’s usually making love to his guitar on stage and causing women to stare . Well, did ya know Curt had chops also? Yeah, if you ever watched Next Great American Band (sorta like American Idol for bands), then you saw Curt with the band Franklin Bridge. He is a talented musician and artist.

Not much needs to be said for this week’s AFF artist. His voice says it all. Not over or under done, just good old fashion down south saanging. I was two toe taps and a hand wave into it before I remembered…I was not in church. George is a student at Savannah College of Art and Design here in Georgia. If you like what you hear, show him some love on his Youtube channel, follow him on Twitter or befriend him on Facebook. Tell him the ADDIKTS sent you…

Dave Hollister got his big break in 1994 performing on Teddy Riley’s BLACKstreet debut album as an original member. He released his first solo album, Ghetto Hymns in 1999. Hollister followed up with an autobiographical Chicago 85: The Movie in 2000. The album went gold thanks to the biggest single “One Woman Man.” Hollister has moved to the Gospel Centric and serves as Assistant Minister of Music for the New Direction Christian Church in Tennessee.

We Miss You Wednesday:BabyGirl Better Known as Aaliyah

We Miss You Wednesday - Aaliyah

We Miss You Wednesday - Aaliyah

I remember trying to learn the dance steps to many of Aaliyah’s videos.  I dug her sexy yet, not-so-feminine style with the big pants, hats, big shirts and boots.  She was a beautiful girl with loads of talent.  I remember the night we (my college friends and I) found out she was dead.  The car got really quiet.  We couldn’t believe she was really gone.  A plane crash. Stunned. She was only 22 years old and most of us, at that time, were not far behind her in age.  For me, it didn’t really sink in until after a few days.  It was as if we knew her – all of us lost and gained something that night.  We all gained the reality the life could be gone in an instant, so live each day as if it were your last.

Last week Aaliyah would have been 31.  It’s amazing how time flies. We miss you, Aaliyah.
