Faith Evans - A Faithful Christmas

So I was driving down the street the other day flipping through radio stations and as usual that were all playing the same thing. Even the Christmas songs were the same. I decided when I had the chance I would get online and search for something to keep me in the holiday spirit but take me away from the monotony of the radio. That’s when I came across” A Faithful Christmas” by singer/songwriter/producer Faith Evans.
The r&b diva released ‘Faithful’ in fall of 2005 under Capitol Records. The 11-track disc features a few classic Christmas songs including “O’ Come All Ye Faithful,” and a soulful “White Christmas.” My absolute favorites are her Gospel-like version of “This Christmas,” and she does a great rendition of “The Day That Love Began” by Stevie Wonder. Notable are also two originals: “Soulful Christmas” (very James Brown-ish, similar to “Mesmerized” from The First Lady) and the hip hop influenced “Christmas Wish.”

Here’s the track list:
1. Happy Holiday
2. The Day That Love Began
3. Soulful Christmas
4. Santa Baby
5. Merry Christmas Baby
6. Mistletoe And Holly
7. Christmas Wish
8. Christmas Song
9
. This Christmas
10. White Christmas
11. O Come All Ye Faithful

Preview the entire album for free at www.rhapsody.com.

A Faithful Christmas can be purchased at Itunes, Amazon.com, and ArtistDirect.com.

Her most successful album, Make The Difference was released in 1990 with hits like “Tender Kisses” and “This House”. Tracie has done background vocals for 50 Cent, Eve, and Busta Rhymes. dilla

With production credits for artists like Janet Jackson, A Tribe Called Quest, Busta Rhymes, Common, Mos Def, The Roots and Erykah Badu to name a few, James Yancy never received the critical acclaim most felt he deserved. A self taught musician, J. Dilla had a natural talent for music at a very young age. Picking up his music gene from his mother, a former Opera singer, and his father, a jazz musician. Growing up on the east side of Detroit, a city better know for crime and poverty than Hip-Hop as of late, Dilla strayed away from the negativity and stuck to his passion. He hooked up with a couple high school buddies, to form the group Slum Village, later leaving to pursue a solo career. It was during this time that the rare blood disease, TTP and Lupus began to take a toll on Dilla’s health.  February 10, 2006 the Hip-Hop soul world lost a legend and the world lost a great man.  Today we remember Dilla…
