HOT! Yes, I want to be extremely honest in this review and regurgitation of the evening, so I will.  The show (the part I saw) was incredibly hot and the artists did a great job at giving the audience their money’s worth.  However, here are a few caveats to that point. The first thing is – the show started extra late.  Now, we know usually these type of events don’t start on time.  I assume there are a lot of things going on behind the scenes that the concert-goers may not be aware of – and of course, I understand that.  But can you make an announcement? Thank you for your patience. We would like to apologize for the inconvenience.  May I remind you that the LOFT is a standing room only venue.  I felt extra sorry for the young ladies who wore their FMP’s to the show.  People began chanting, “Let’s get the show started.” How embarrassing that must be for the promoters and individuals who put together this nice show.  I do not blame the artists (actually I do, if they were the cause of the show starting late), but I think we (the supporters) deserve some type of courtesy, as we are supporting your event.  Not to mention, the air was either not working or malfunctioning because Satan apparently entered the room and made himself invisible.  HOT! I understand a little heat because it’s expected in a small venue, but people again – courtesy.  I am a self-proclaimed live music supporter, so it takes a lot to get me aggravated, but that evening was a bit much.

Rahbi, a local Atlanta artist, took the stage and performed Take You to a Dream and did a Michael Jackson tribute.  One thing about Rahbi’s live show – he is going to leave everything on the stage.  Whether you dig it or not. He does not disappoint.  With his black vest and bowtie, he wowed the crowed.  Some looked confused and others looked enthused! The next artist to grace the stage was Choklate.  Choklate is based in Seattle, Washington and recently released her sophomore album entitled ‘To Whom It May Concern.”  I highly recommend it if you do not have it in your collection. Back to the recap – Choklate’s ability to be light-hearted on stage adds to her show.  She exudes passion with every lyric.  She performed songs from her previous album, self-entitled, “Choklate” and several of us were singing along at the top of our lungs.  Choklate also paid a tribute to the late Michael Jackson with her addition of Heartbreak Hotel to her song, “Sun’s Out”.

I reached my limit.  As much as I wanted to see Ra Ra Valverde, Trina Broussard and Rahsaan Patterson – I did not.  Therefore this is an incomplete and impartial perception of the show.

People, let’s do better. I’m just sayin’.

keep your soulHIGH…
